before you start with Flutter

Flutter, the one-punch, easy-to-use Framework used to create engaging and transparent apps in comparably shorter time than its native competitors has a few minimum requirements that you need to meet, which we’ll cover in the following article.

OPERATING SYSTEM

First, you will need to have a supported operating system. Flutter currently supports the following operating systems:

– Windows 7 or later

– macOS (formerly OS X) 10.9 or later

– Linux (64-bit)

DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENT

Next, you will need to have a supported development environment. Flutter can be used with a variety of integrated development environments (IDEs), including:

– Android Studio

– Visual Studio Code

– IntelliJ IDEA

– Emacs

FLUTTER SDK

In addition, you will need to have the Flutter SDK (software development kit) installed on your computer. The Flutter SDK includes the Dart SDK, as well as a number of tools and libraries that are used to build Flutter apps. You can find the installation steps here:

https://docs.flutter.dev/get-started/install

HARDWARE

Finally, you will need a supported device or emulator to run your Flutter apps on.

Flutter supports both Android and iOS devices, as well as the web and desktop platforms.

To run your app on an Android device, you will need to have Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) or later installed.

To run your app on an iOS device, you will need to have iOS 8 or later installed.

In summary, the minimum requirements for using Flutter are a supported operating system, a supported development environment, the Flutter SDK, and a supported device or emulator. With these in place, you can start building natively compiled applications for mobile, web, and desktop with Flutter.

We hope this was useful to you and as always…

Happy coding!
